  1. I Installed VCDEasy Ver 1.0.9 full version I dont see my HP CD writer I get an Error Message " No CD Writer found or ASPI drivers error"

    I have downloaded and Installed the latest ASPI drivers from ADAPTEC
    and below is the Info from ASPICHK

    Can anyone please tell me if there is a workaround?

    You could try to install CDRdao (free software), unless it came with VCDeasy.

    Type in a dos-box : cdrdao scanbus
    and you should see all installed scsi/atapi devices (only cdr's/cdrw's/dvdrw's) which the ASPI can locate. Naturely, you should do a 'cd' to the directory where cdrdao is located, while it's not inserted in the default PATH environment variable by default.

    If your writer hasn't displayed, then there's something wrong with your ASPI drivers... in this case contact Adaptec.

  3. Somewhere on www.doom9.org, within his guide relating to "ripping the hard way", is a link to a program called ForceAspi. It might be what you need.

    You can enable CDRAO without loading the aspi layer. You will have to unlock cdwriter in tools, cdrao. You also may have to check the box for force execution under settings, cdrao to get your image to burn. I did not load the ASPI layer and have been imaging and burning fine with VCDEasy.
