If you live in the UK most DV cams have the DV in deactivated. Most cams can be modified to enable DV in, though I dont know what this entails. Do a search on the web, the info is out there somewhere. Word of warning by activating DV in you will invalidate your warranty.

I bought software and cable from http://www.lynxdv.com/estore/ and DV-in enabled my Sony TREV320e. It works perfectly.
However, I am not sure if you can order from outside the UK. -
MysteryMan,
I have the (cheaper)TRV120 model, but have not had any problems or had to do anything that would void the warranty.
I'm using Adobe Premiere v6 and simply chose to export back to camera and it works fine.
If you need any further help or want me to test something for you, please feel free to ask.
Regards,
John Brondum
