I am not really in the market for either but I'm curious if they did.

For a time at least they did have a 5 disc dvd changer if memory serves. Did they do the same with bluray?

And actually what would interest me slightly more would be a bluray/vhs combo unit. Mostly for space saving more than anything.

I have a dvd recorder/vhs combo unit that does have hdmi out but it only does 1080i. It would be interesting if they made a bluray/vhs combo unit so you could do all three over 1080p - not vhs obviously but the dvds would be upconverted to the max.

Again I"m not really in the market but I'm interested if either unit was ever made for bluray.

One reason too expensive to make plus there isn't a market out there for something like this to support it.

  4. It's no longer available, but there was the Panasonic DMP-BD70V Blu-ray Disc/VHS Multimedia Player

@fredreed - yeah its a minor niche to be sure.

@drjtech - wow I don't believe it an actual bluray vhs machine. It would have actually been more logical to make a dvhs bluray combo.

And that 400 disc changer is wild. Though it must be a typo as it said date first available was 2001 - no bluray in 2001. Though that must have been the dvd version of the same unit I suppose.

    Thanks for the posts.

Edit - oh and I did recently buy a new bluray player so I solved my needs. Its small enough to sit on top of my dvd/vhs player/recorder so I have the best of both worlds.
