Why is it taking so long? DId you use the "very slow" preset ?

Yes I use the very slow preset.
I have used it on many other videos & I know it takes longer.
It has never taken this long & I do not know why other than this video had somethings wrong with it & ffmpeg is trying to process it & maybe correct it.
When it finishes I will first take a look at the .mp4 & if it plays OK I will try it with AVS2DVD.

I also plan to try a quicker conversion with Clever & see how it does.
I will probably use very fast with it.
If that goes well I may try Clever at very slow & see what happens.

I finally got a good dvd myself.
A combination of mkvtoolnix then mp4fpsmod to set constant framerate at 60 fps.

Playing back the generated file showed it to be out of sync towards the end, but running it through A2D
it synced back up.

No, there are no settings to change on the ClonerAlliance box. The mp4 file plays all the way through with the video in sync so if the video part is bad why doesn't it get out of sync playing the mp4? It only gets out of sync after I convert to DVD file structure.

It worked when I re recorded from a different video source. I re recorded from the video saved on my DVR from the original TV broadcast and that was out of sync too. The original recording was directly from the live TV broadcast.

OK, now this is getting frustrating. I have been making these videos for several years. I'm recording college football games from TV using my ClonerAlliance Evolve device, I then edit out the commercials using their editing software then convert to DVD using AVStoDVD. I have had no problems until the second game this year. The one I recorded on August 31 came out fine. Then last week I had this problem of the audio being out of sync. I was able to get a good one using the link davexnet sent but that was from a website that had the full game with the commercials edited out. I still had to use my editing software because the game was in two parts but I only edited out the bits before and after the two halves. That DVD came out in sync.

Now yesterday I recorded a new game directly from the TV broadcast, as always, then edited out the commercials. The edited mp4 plays all the way through in sync. But when I convert to DVD this one is out of sync just like the game recording from last week. It was only last week that I had this problem so I thought it was a fluke since I was doing the same things as before. But now again this week I have this same problem.

I can't see anything that I have done differently for this to have worked for so many years and now suddenly not work. I haven't changed the settings on AVStoDVD other then after I had this problem and followed the suggestions from davexnet and cholla. I thought maybe my editing software had somehow gotten corrupt so I reinstalled that but still the same problem. I tried reinstalling AVStoDVD also and that didn't work. I'm using the latest version 2.8.9

I suspect there are some timing errors in the stream somewhere, based on Avidemux compaining and refusing to let me take a cut.
Why it's happening I've no idea, but you do sometimes see it in captured streams

Good News!! I got my recording from yesterday to work. I went back to the original settings for AVStoDVD and it came out in sync. Here is the log so you can see the settings I used.

That's good. As I mentioned earlier, ffmpegsource with FPSden and FPSnum kind of resamples the source to provide
a CBR stream. It almost always works with audio sync problems. But it didn't work on your G02

I looked at the video you spoke of Dave, but the audio is definitely out of sync, probably by a quarter of a second behind the video. I slowed it down to 33% to see for sure using VLC, and it's definitely out of sync.
Not that it really matters now, since he got his video taken care of. LOL

You're right but it was like that in the source. The desync in the original conversion attempt was more like 45 seconds.

The long ffmpeg re_encode still had the about a minute delay at the end.
So that did not fix the original video.

I finally did get a good DVD Folder set that plays in VLC in sync.
What I did was rip the video to RAW.h264 with ffmpeg.
Then extracted the audio track with ffmpeg.
Then :

ffmpeg -fflags +genpts -r 60 i input.h264 -vcodec copy output.mp4

Then I remuxed the video & audio tracks with ffmpeg.

I could not find mp4fpsmod download for 32-bit.
Even if I had I would have needed a tutorial from you because I have never used mp4fpsmod.
I had never even heard of it.
Seems it would be handy to have.
