Brand new to this forum...I hope someone can be of help to me.

I am a high school football coach in California, and we currently film our games from the sideline angle with a Sony HDR CX-170 (I think), and we control the zoom and start/stop with a Sony Tripod similar to this one:

We are interested in adding a camera to our arsenal and filming our sideline views from a wide angle with all 22 players, and a tight angle zooming tight on the ball. I have seen tripod setups that will allow both cameras to be focused in the right relationship by the same operator, but I am interested in how I can make the start/stop work with a single push of a button.

My thought was a Sony 10-pin D plug splitter that would connect to the male 10-pin from the tripod and connect to the two female 10-pin plugs in both cameras. I just can't seem to find this plug.

Does anyone know if this exists, or is even possible? I would love any input that you can provide.

Thank you so much!!
