  1. Do you have to have a DVD burner to burn a vob to dvd-r disc?
I got a great deal on dvd-r discs and I want to be able to burn my VOB files to DVD-r.
I know I need a DVD Writer to burn DVD to DVD but can I write the Vob files or any form to dvd-r with the dvd-rom drive and a cd-writer?

  2. I'm pretty sure DVD media is not valid in a CDR, my guess is NO.

  3. on all major brands of DVD Media (-R,-RW,+RW) there is a disclaimer on the package (field store) or on the website (online store) that says "Only Usable on DVD-R, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW" to avoid such confusion. did u READ the Disclaimer?

In answer to your question. NO, DVD media will not work on a CDR/RW. the only thing you can do is take your VOBs and put them on a CDR (aka MiniDVD) but this is basically only used to preserve data or to be watched on computers, as 99% of DVD players do not read the MiniDVD format. If you want to do it, follow the links Baldrick gave you.
