MKV file shows no duration!

I converted a DVD to MKV format using Handbrake.

When I play this file in KM Player, it shows neither slider nor duration. The Back (Left cursor key) and Advance (Right cursor key) have no effect.

What could be possibly wrong?

Pl help.

Try first play with something else like vlc media player. Same problem?

Yes, same problem in VLC, MPC-Home Cinema & WMP.

I got the solution.

I used MKVTools, demuxed the video and remuxed it with setting format specific option of FrameRate.

It's working now.

I was just going to recommend to remux.

A little correction to my solution (could be useful to others). I think I found a faster way to edit and remux MKV file.

In MKVTools, no need to demux MKV files to edit!

I used mkvemerge GUI V.6 "Coming up for Air".

- Just drag the MKV file and drop in the Input panel.
- Select tracks to be remuxed and click "Start Muxing"

If it's a known feature, pl ignore the suggestion.
