  2. I have heard (not seen) of 90-99 minute VCDs. From my experience I can tell you that audio and video go out of sync once you exceed 70 minutes. I have created VCDs which are above 70 minutes using NTI CD Maker but Audio and Video start going out of sync.

Remember to leave a little space for esstial VCD files.

    72 minutes on a 74 Minute CDR
    78 minutes on a 80 minute CDR
    89 minutes on a 90 minutes CDR

However your CD Writer must be able support overburn and you need use NERO.

  4. just fyi, nero is neither the best recommendation nor is it the only burning app which allows you to overburn... so you don't actually need nero to accomplish that

If you look into nonstandard VCDs, Sefy's VBR xVCD can get you up to 90 minutes on a 700mb CD. Admittedly, my point of reference is my copy of Charlie's Angels, where I used VBR MPEG-1, min 0, max 1150, audio bitrate 96kbps mono. I only intended to a) see if it worked, and b) play back at low volume on a crappy computer at work for the purposes of amazing people.

  6. In nero, if you deselect "Use CD-i app", you can burn 79 minutes of video onto an 80 minute CDR.

With my ATI AIW Radeon, I have made VCD captures which exceed 150 minutes without losing sync. I could probably do more, but I've never needed to capture more than that.

Obviously mistaken then. I apologise for apparently providing incorrect information.

  8. Minimum length of the first data track is 6 seconds. If you don't use the CD-i app or any segment-items, it will be 6 seconds long...

Thus, on 74min media, you can get up to 73min 54sec.

On 80min media, you can get up to 79min 54sec... etc.

I would personally give a few seconds leeway, but 73:30 and 79:30 is definitely achieveable (I've done it multiple times).

Thus, theorectically you could have a VCD up to 99min 53sec long (if you had media that could write up to 99min 59sec). You can't have anything higher without on standard CDs.

    Regards.
