    My understanding is that LG didn't want to include Cinavia but basically had to for disc playback but I suspect they left it out of USB input on purpose, seeing it as a loophole (i.e., not needing support).

    I think it's more about the media decoder chip used for different players and how stringent the BDA & AACS LA are being with the mandatory enforcement of Cinavia. I know a lot of Blu-ray players use MediaTek and this includes Oppo. I'm not aware of any players using the MediaTek chip for decoding of media formats that aren't Blu-ray that enforce Cinavia. I do expect this loophole to die off at some point if that can be done to existing players or with future generations of MediaTek chips.
