Greetings All - am editing old photos with Pinnacle Studio 15 into photo album with titles, transitions, music , narration etc. Total project 45 minutes long - as my editing has progressed the time required to drag and place transitions, pictures, titles - even music - has slowed down - from being almost instantaneous to between 15 and 25 seconds per item !!! Have done several of these Photo Albums in the past - many much longer too -never a problem.

While the dragged/proposed item delay is happening the Pinnacel 15 title in the top-left-hand corner of the screen shows in brackets ,
(Not responding) - but this lasts just several seconds at a time before it disappears and then the dragged item is 'accepted' onto the time line. I have checked the drivers, memory everyhting else I can think of - whats happeneing ? Any help/suggestions would be v much appreciated ! Thank all !

Off the top of my head, check for programs/processes running in the background. Also, do you only have 1 hard drive? If you do, you may want to consider getting another internal or external drive. More memory is another really, really good option. Your motherboard supports a maximum of 16 GB of memory (2 8 GB sticks.)

A 45 minute project is a bit long. Were your previous projects that long? And is the project HD? If so, that may have a lot to do with slow system performance.

There may be a lot of elements at play here.

Thx vm Brainiac - Yes I have done several projects a lot longer than 45 minutes without any problems whatsoever - Have separate dedicated external hard drive for my video and photo projects - likewise have closed all other open programmes - think it must be something todo with memory somewhere - the further I rpoceed the longer the delays get ...
Thanks again for your help and assiatance

I just remembered, Studio is a 32 bit program, so increasing your system memory beyond 4 GBs won't make any difference to Studio.

Did you try clicking on the START button, typing MSCONFIG into the search box, hitting ENTER, clicking the STARTUP tab and unchecking any startup items that you do not want to startup when your computer boots up?

You may want to visit the Pinnacle 15 site and ask there. Here is the link:

As an FYI, nobody will sit through a 45 minute "old photos" slideshow. If they do, you should nominate them to the Guiness World Records.

Buswzr - ,You are right - the photo show is for ourselves - like a photo album but a lot more interesting - perhaps ! It is not to show or bore friends or visitors with, but just as a family album in a "modern format" - with better 'preservation qualities' than the old photos albums or slides. Sorry. but we all have our own reasons for whatever ...
