  1. The last couple of weeks I've get a weird cce crash every time i do multipass encoding

fsxp_close() failed: **** could not close the file encoded*.mpv
    the handle is invalid

    [windows error code 0x6 6]

It start at the second pass, I' can hit "OK", and the encoding resumes sometimes. But I still get the error on the third pass and fourth.

I've tried diffrent frameserving then Avisynth. VFpai, Virtualdub, inn CCE 2.50. Also tried vfpai in 2.62 and 2.64.

Any ideas how I can resolve the problem.( Not keen on getting up evey night, just to make the encoding resume )

It sounds like you have a severe case of "bit blight"... ie, you have way too many programs loaded (you've been trying out all those new programs, haven't you!). Unfortunately, a lot of programs (even though you aren't using them) take up Windows resources that are needed elsewhere (in your case, in CCE). You are running WIN98, aren't you? The cure that I used for this (when this happened to me) was rather drastic - nuke the harddrive from space... it's the only way to be sure (well, really all I did was reformat the entire drive that contained windows, then reinstalled every program that I CURRENTLY use).

But before you nuke the drive, try to cleanup and defrag all of your drives. Also, try uninstalling some of the programs that you aren't actively using. This doesn't always work, because a lot of programs misbehave under Windows, but it is worth a shot.

I believe that the problem lies in the REGISTRY, but unless you are an EXPERT, I would not try to manually fix this. Just remember to BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP. Copy ALL the .INI files so that you can restore your preferences for the programs that you use. This is a DRASTIC measure to fix your problem... a good BACKUP will avert a disaster if anything goes wrong.
