  2. No that's a PCMCIA card(CardBus), those ports are on old laptops.

Only flash cards can be used in the SD port, do you have a laptop or desktop?

He doesn't want an SD card reader, he wants to add Firewire. If your computer doesn't have a PCMCIA slot it should have Expresscard instead, in which case you want something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003N3J354/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&...1YP7N150TDZPQT

  5. You need to read your manual or open up the case to see what your motherboard supports, it might only have the old PCI port so try this one:

That's the exact card I bought. I took the PC to PC World and they had a look and said the mother board has no add on's for this. Is there a firewire option for the SD card slot?

It looks like two pci-e slots and one 16x pci-e.

    Didn't you try with a small pci-e?

As you've probably gathered I'm not that bright on PC's and not sure what a PCI-e=E is although I gather its a board for the firewire. Can you recommend what I need?
    Thanks again.
