Not sure where to post this, but ever since I installed the AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core processor, I've had problems with MeGUI crashing. It gives me Runtime Errors, sometimes it doesn't give any errors. Other times it ask me to enter Debug mode. I'm not sure what the problem is. I've re-installed Windows 7 once and that didn't fix anything. So I'm stumped.
Here is the log file on the last crash.

I MeGUI's options, what's the setting for FFMS Thread Count? If it's anything but "1", try changing it to "1".
Is it just when encoding the audio that it crashes?
To be honest, and as much as I hate to say it, if no solution presents itself you might be better of asking in the MeGUI thread at doom9 as a MeGUI developer or two posts there regularly. They'd be the ones most likely to be able to help.
You could also try switching to the development update server in options and running an update. The latest version there is 2286. I've been using it for a while without any problem. There's been a few bugfixes, although I'm not sure any relate to your problem.
I think the aspect error calculator has been added to the script creator since the version you're using, and check in the AviSynth Profile configuration if you use the script creator, Some options have been moved/added to there such as the ability to resize "up". -
According to the program, it doesn't even get to encoding the audio. It crashes trying to open any file before it encodes the audio.
Baldrick, it's just MeGUI. RipBot264 works perfectly. -
I updated to the developmental build and now I get a memory error. I was getting this before and so I changed memory modules. I was getting it with different memory in different slots. I'm not sure what's going on.

Try NOT encoding audio with it. MeGUI works fine for me on my Win 7 64 bit PC but I NEVER use it to encode audio. I don't recall it crashing but I have a vague memory of it being really unhappy when trying to encode a file that had audio with it. I don't use it much, but I demux my files and run my video only through File Indexer to get a .dga file which I can feed into MeGUI via AviSynth. I don't find that the scripts it tries to create on its own are very good (they always generate errors quickly), so I just write my own. I'm not saying that using it my way is great, but I don't need to re-encode audio via it as I have better ways to do that. AviSynth is, in my opinion, not the best option anyway for dealing with audio re-encoding.
If you ask on Doom9 it's a real crap shoot whether anyone will care about your problem or not. There's nothing you can do if they just blame you for being stupid instead of trying to actually help you. Who knows? Sometimes you get lucky and they actually try to help. -
One of the MeGUI developers (Zathor) regularly posts and answers questions in the MeGUI bug thread. He's usually pretty helpful. At least he has been for me. He'll get people to upload samples of problem files or log files or debug info and look at the problem. In fact he's usually so active there, the last time he took a week's vacation, there were posters asking if he'd abandoned MeGUI by the time he returned.
Not that I'm much of a fan of doom9 these days.... in fact I've suggested people ask their question at doom9 a couple of times, only for it to result in them being quizzed about the original of the files they're wanting to convert, so I won't do it again. Suggesting someone ask for help in the MeGUI thread being an exception if there's no other alternative, because unfortunately, that's where it is. -
Well the way I read both log files it's attempting to open the audio for encoding, stepping through the various decoding methods as each one fails, then crashes when it's FFAudioSource's turn. I did ask about the FFMS count in MeGUI's options in my last post, which was just a guess, but I guess I could try asking about the audio you're trying to encode.
If I'm reading the log file correctly, you're encoding a ts file but are you indexing the file and demuxing the (ac3?) audio stream and encoding it? Have you tried encoding a different type of audio?
I'm still thinking it's an audio encoding problem. Try selecting DirectShow as the audio decoder in the audio encoder setup (assuming you have something like ffdshow installed or the relevant DirectShow decoder). It usually works when nothing else does.
