    Yep,
I've mentioned before how for some reason which I never resolved, AC-3s don't playback properly if they're my own creations. I tried something out today and it worked:
If I mux the AC-3 with a m2v in DVDlabpro, it finally "maps" properly, all channels playing fully and so on. Now, anyone know why authoring in DVDlab is the only thing that works? Let's say I mux an ac3 into an avi, nothing from the surrounds/lfe. The same with every other method I've tried.
I don't understand how DVDlab resolves the issue when nothing else works...?
    Thanks

Looks like there's something fishy in the "configs" of your operating system.

Properly-muxed multichannel audio shall play all channels in the correct "positions",
regardless of the chosen container and regardless of the chosen media player.

Creating custom audio mixes takes far more than simple mixing to get them working properly. What "customizing" techniques are you referring to that don't work with anything except for DVDLab Pro?

I'm not sure what you mean by "customizing techniques". I mix with Audition and encode with the "WAV to AC3" app.

I was referring to this .....

    Sorry if I misunderstood it.

Oh. I meant that a 5.1 will play fine from a professional source, like an official DVD/BD, but never if it's something I did myself.

    takearushfan,

It probably depends greatly on software used and understanding the best way to create the mix in said software. I am NO pro but for my own tastes I have software designed specifically for my listening choices, when and if I'm considering the creation of a sound mix for video that doesn't carry one I enjoy.

I wish you luck and hope you find a good balance for your projects.

    Cheers
