Hi everyone, I just reloaded the OS on my old backup XP computer and was trying to reload Imgburn, both via this websites direct download link, and via the developers website and the install fails. It will load the program and open it up, but if i close the program it disappears and i have to re-install it again. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. You just posted two threads saying your programs don't work, it sounds like something got mucked up when you did the clean install. Make sure SP3 is installed and you have .NET installed. Also install CCleaner and run the registry scan, did your other programs install OK?

Or download Universal Extractor (binaries, for portable version). With that, extract the ImgBurn setup files. Now run the extracted ImgBurn.exe as a portable. Shouldn´t disappear after closing.

Yet oddly despite you insisting that "everything installed properly" and "The one program has an error" you posted here about another problem:

I think you're going to have to punt and start all over. You've got serious problems with this install. Neither of your problems is normal.

Anyway, if you're going to ever use Uniextract, you'd better manually update at least two of its binaries,
namely the Inno Setup Unpacker and the UPX module:

I would make sure your XP and Imgburn are updated as far as it can be. Then let us know what error you are getting. Also, recommend NOT using a Registry Cleaner; they are normally more harm than good. If all else fails, try here http://portableapps.com/node/21615 or here http://infrarecorder.org/. good luck!
There are many ways to measure success. You just have to find your own yardstick.
