Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me clear up a little confusion I am experiencing.
If I have a camcorder set up, and pointed at what I want to record, and then I have an s-video cable going from that to a chromabox (standalone: DVK-200 which mixes a prerecorded dvd with the camcorder stream) and then that chromabox to a DR430 Toshiba DVD recorder via s-video... does it matter what file type the camcorder outputs as?
We are looking at the GZ-HD3U but I read that it uses TOD files, which apparently isnt common and usually requires converting before being possible to edit or burn.
I am "pretty sure" that if the camcorder is sending the file via s-video, and the dvd recorder (and chromabox) have s-video inputs (which they do) then it will be okay. I wanted to ask here to make sure I dont make a frustrating endeavor even more so by buying the wrong camcorder : )
Thanks

I received another answer on a different forum and now have it all figured out.
File types dont matter. The s-video is sending an analogue signal which can be received
by any device with an s-video input.
