How do I get the AC3 from my (divx) .AVI

Im trying to convert divx to Mpeg 1, but the sound is in ac3 - I know what programs to use to convert the ac3, just dont know how to get the .ac3 from the .avi - Any help appriciated,

Hi

You wont need to extract the audio unless there is a lip sync or some other reason. Just install the AC3 codec. I believe the Nimo Codec Pack includes this. Also WinDVD has it. Then load TMPGEnc and before you load the movie, change the priority of the direct show reader priority to 1 or 2.

I am using VirtualDub > Audio > DirectStream Copy > Save as Wav

this wav is unusable in almost all programs...

so i wrote little program which cuts off WAV head and makes true AC3 stream...
Than i use BeSweet GUI (tooLame)

vob2audio contains a little prog called Wavemp3 which adds a header that Virtualdub can accept......
