I trying my best on learning how to choose the best bitrate and resolution when converting web stream, DVD, Bluray to a media format. Cause all over the internet are media files for different movies new and old. So I wondering if there is a book out there that will train me in encoding with the right res and most importantly bitrate, also other factors like FPS and audio formats.

Cause I've seen media that is equal to DVD and Blu ray quality also DTS how the he!! do you encode DTS.
So I will break down and by a book considering Digital Video Compression Peter D. Symes don't know if that'll be too advace and talk about more than what I want.

  2. if you find such a book please let me know, I doubt it is even possible.
On the other hand you will probably find a bunch of tools which have presets for a lot of things.

how the he!! do you encode DTS.
    freeware: dcaenc
    of using a commercial encoder, e.g. http://www.dts.com/professionals/audio-software/surround-audio-suite/dts-encoder.aspx
