Slowing down a short clip - Vegas

I have a 2.3 sec clip of a fast moving object. I would like to stretch it out to 15-20 sec. As it is, it stretches no further than 10 sec. There probably is a preference I need to change. Comments?

IIRC think you can only do 4x in vegas, you might be able to do more with a velocity envelope added on

The workaround is to render out, re-import, slow it down some more, rinse , repeat

in Vegas can you not stretch it 4 x render then repeat 2 more times?.
i did it to speed up a 3 hour clip down to 3 mins. it worked fine.

What's a velocity envelope? Where is it?

In the manual. I tried it and it just generated multiple clips. I produced the velocity bar and pulled it up to the top, then dragged the even to the right.
