  1. Hello!

    I have an MKV file that has chapter information.
    How to extract the video in a particular chapter without re-encoding the file?

    I would try solveigm avi trimmer. You have to select start and stop manually though. But no reconverting.

    Thank you for the reply. But I am thinking there might be a way so we don't need to manually set the start-stop points. Instead take advantage of the chapter information in the MKV file.

    Is this possible?

    I haven't seen any such software. Maybe you could write something for the mkvmerge command line...but it would be too complex...

    I muxed the MKV file into TS files and used H264TS Cutter for cutting the files. And yes, I stil have to manually enter start-end points.

    I have to mention that 'solveigm avi trimmer' did show an option to cut out MKV chapters. But the option in not working. Something to do with a software bug I guess.
