I would like to store a few 25-min episodes from a DVD, onto my computer. I'm not sure exactly how to do this; I do have Any Video Converter. I'd prefer to keep the files as MP4s if I can, one separate MP4 for each episode. Using AVC, I insert the DVD into the dvd player, and then try to convert the DVD, but whenever I select an individual video file, I get an error message telling me that it can't find information for that file. I'm not sure if AVC is what I need. I have DVD flick and DVD shrink also. Should I be using those? Or is there another program I should use?

Are you opening vts_xx.vobs? You should try open the entire dvd by selecting the dvd folder(video_Ts) if possible in any video converter.
Or Any Video Converter might not support ripping/decrypting DVD. Then you need to rip with dvdfab decrypter or install a background dvd decrypter like dvdfab passkey lite or anydvd.
Or else try Handbrake, StaxRip, VidCoder. -
Thanks. When I tried selecting the vob files, what happens is that I can't select the entire folder, I have to select the files individually. Each time, it says that it can't get information. I tried using DVD Defab decrypter (to convert the one file I want to an MP4), but it simply tells me that the file is encrypted--and that's it.
