  1. When I try to import MKV with A_AAC audio file it crashes. I have even disabled internal mpeg decoder and allowed external decoders to handle the import and still it crashes.

Can Video Mastering Works handle A_AAC audio file?

    Thanks

  2. There is probably another reason for the crash A_AAC is just AAC audio (pretty common and ubiquitous)

Can you play the file in something like VLC, SMPlayer, MPCHC ?

Can you open it in avidemux 2.6 ?

What does mediainfo (View=>text) say about the file ?

  3. posiondethray thanks for the reply. I demuxed the mkv and extracted AAC was able to be imported fine into video mastering works. I placed the audio in an mkv by itself and it crashed when trying to import the MKV. So Haali is somehow involved with the crash. I think there is some mix communication between all codec settings on my machine.

  4. if you suspect a codec/splitter issue on your system, one option is to uninstall haali, and use lav splitter instead

if you're still trying to import the video + audio, and lav still didn't solve the issue, you can try mp4 container instead (e.g mp4box, yamb)
