This is my first post here and I'm also relatively new to authoriing my own videos.
I'm trying to use my PC webcam (Gigaware HD/Radio Shack) to record short video segments to be aired on cable TV. The producer wants the files in HD format & suggested I use Moviemaker to record them.
I've made a few of my own videos using this webcam & other recording software and it doesn't seem to sync very well (audio & video aren't aligned) Using Moviemaker & listening to the file in Moviemaker there's definitely a sync problem.
Is this due to the quality of my equipment or any other obvious issue I should address? Is it a software issue?

The producer surely gave you an absolutely UN-professional advice. Drop Windows Movie Maker, to begin with. First, capture to a fast video codec and to UN-compressed audio in a constant-frame-rate container (read: AVI). Later, edit and re-compress both the audio and the video.

Can you recommend recording/editing software that would not be terribly complicated for someone relatively new at this.
