how do i put an mpeg to a vcd??

ok, i've bought an easy cd creator 5. and i've tryed to put a movie on cd, but i can't.. its say's that it won't paly in a vcd. now someone told me to put a mpeg to a vcd and it'll work.. i've downloaded movies off the net, and now i would like to play them on my dvd.. but how would i do that??? someone out there please help me!!!!!
