  1. I added an extra audio to a commercial DVD and added an extra audio stream attribute in PGCedit. It's fine and all, but I wasn't sure if the process that I was using would have any repercussions. Would my original DVD be ok if I reauthored my DVD like this?:

Then used Voblanker and replaced the original movie with my reauthored DVD. Then used PGCedit to set the audio stream attribute to have the extra audio. I checked the DVD and the audio and subtitles have the correct order with the correct languages set. Now I'm wondering if I messed up the subtitles in Muxman or not cause I didn't set the Wide and LB setting.

Also this is a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyways. Is there anyway to get the chapters EXACTLY like original? The original DVD has the Playback time of 00:43:59.16 (at 30 fps) and the reauthored DVD has the Playback time of 00:43:59.17 (at 30 fps).

I know it's trivial, but I was trying to reauthor my DVD close to the original as possible. If it's not possible, then I won't persue it further. Thanks.

Yes, that's how you do it (except for the subs). That Muxman pic shows only one scene, but I guess you loaded the Celltimes.txt afterwards?

Yes, you messed up. The subs may still play, but with a single SUP file for each track and 16:9 DVD video, you should have hit both 'LB' and 'Wide' for all three tracks. Also, your first PGCEdit picture looks odd to me. Just how many SUP files did you get?

If you loaded the Celltimes.txt, they are exactly like the original.

You're worried about a hundredth of a second? Neither of those times is correct anyway as NTSC DVDs play at 29.97fps and PGCEdit doesn't use drop-frame timing to show the correct length. Nor do most DVD players.

Yea, I loaded it later after I took the picture.

I just learned the hard way, when I tested out my reauthored DVD a few minutes ago. Only the first sub stream played and all the others didn't. Oh the subtitles doesn't correspond to each of the audio tracks. First 2 audio streams are the movie with 1 commentary. The subs are English, Spanish, and French.

Anyways, when I demuxed with PGCDemux, I got 6 .sup files. I checked all of them and saw that Subpictures_23.sup, Subpictures_24.sup, and Subpictures_25.sup were duplicates of Subpictures_20.sup, Subpictures_21.sup, and Subpictures_22.sup.....I'm guessing now that I was suppose to add them to Muxman, too? I guess I did mess up, haha. Only reason why I didn't set the subs to Wide and LB was because I saw the sub streams where in the subtitle menu in WMP. But like I said before, I just tested it out and it didn't work.

I told you it was very trivial, haha. I'm just going to leave it the way it is with the chapters then.

[EDIT]: I "think" I figured it out.

    PGCEdit shows:

    Name: sub1.jpg
Views: 455
Size: 25.1 KB
    Name: sub2.jpg
Views: 495
Size: 24.4 KB
    Name: sub3.jpg
Views: 459
Size: 24.4 KB

After seeing what PGCEdit was showing I modified my reauthor:

    Does that look about right?

Also, Do I have to specify that audio stream 3 is commentary? I can just do that in PGCEdit right? I can still leave the language "unspecified" correct?

They're duplicates in the sense that each pair contains the same dialog translation. But the 'shapes' of the letters should be different as one of each pair is meant for 16:9 TV sets and the other for 4:3 TV sets. 20, 21, and 22 are for Wide, 23, 24, and 25 for LB, as you discovered I guess.

No, I never set languages or 'commentary' or any of that in Muxman. Any setting to be done I do it afterwards in PGCEdit.

  5. manono, thanks for all your help. I wouldn't have figured it out and I was glad I asked my questions or I would've had an incomplete DVD, haha.
