I am using ConvertXtoDVD 5, and I've seen other posts, but they are outdated using version 4. My question is what is the best Filter to use for "Resizing for upscaling, and Resizing for downscaling. I would like to get the best quality video... Thanks...

What filters can you choose from? I guess lanczos is one the best.

The Filters are the same for both options of resizing upscaling and resizing downscaling: One of the listed filters have to be chosen for each options:
    Cubic,Hermite,Lanczos,Gaussian,Blackman,Hann,Hammi ng, and SinSh....
So to add to my question which is the best for upscaling and downscaling....Thanks..

If there's one thing you get from serious good quality video encoders it's option anxiety.

Unfortunately with these things it's not possible to say definitively that one algorithm is best for all cases. If there was there wouldn't be any need to give you that many options . I don't know which one would be best. Maybe if you posted a short sample ... but don't expect other video files to want the same filter.

Me, I'd probably just say the hell with it and stick with Lanczos. It seems to be the default for a lot of encoders.
