I've been trying to render a video on sony vegas 12 for the past couple of days. Each time I render it 2 clips get partially lost. The sound remains, so does the text I inserted, but the video is gone. It happen specifically to 2 subclips I made. No matter what I play it in the black frames are still there. I'm rendering it as a 30 fps 720p 5000kbps .mp4 Does it matter that I unlinked the audio and visual? The other subclips play, so I don't think that's the issue. Does anyone know how to fix this?

did you try rendering with gpu turned off? try rendering with cpu only in the custom menu.

Honestly I've tried so many things I probably have, but i'll go do it now to be safe.

It doesn't work. In the preview screen while rendering when i get to those same frames the video goes out.

Make a support ticket with Sony.
That's very odd that you can see the video on the timeline, but not render it. Normally, WYSIWYG. Maybe the video has some timecode issue, or other unseen corruption, that affects it at render.
You can use AviDemux to transcode it to something else before importing to Vegas.
No, it doesn't matter that you unlinked the audio.Last edited by budwzr; 8th Jan 2013 at 20:35.
