  1. Hello everyone, I am a new member of the forum. Here's my problem (sorry for my bad English)

I have an Easycap capture card. I am capturing old vhs family by connecting the camcorder (an old Panasonic G202 still fully functional) directly to the card. the capture quality, considering the cost of the easycap, is enough for me.

the only problem is that when there are moving objects, it appears an annoying flicker on the screen (almost random).
the same vhs seen on TV does not have this problem.

looking on google I learned of the existence of the time base corrector.

then I tried capturing video directly from the camera (composite out) without registering it first on VHS, and the problem persists (only during the capture, on TV there is no problem). I attach an divx avi as example

the easycap is ok, I tried to connect my dvd player and the DVDs are captured correctly without flicker.

my question is: can the TBC help me solve the problem?

    Thanks in advance

  2. It's electronic interference of one form or another. Either in the card or in the cable. Loose connector, internal short circuit, power surge, cel phone signal, ir signal, bluetooth signal. Try to isolate your capture from all those environmental factors. A TBC won't fix that.

Send a real-time sample where it happens more than once, so I'm sure I'm responding to the right error.

  3. I thought the same thing, in fact I ran the laptop with the battery, and also the camera. I changed the cable and turned off the mobile phone. I turned off the bluetooth in my laptop and I also turned off the wireless router. but the problem persists.

I noticed that mostly happens when something moves in the picture. I do not think it depends on disturbances in the environment.
and i don't think is the capture card because with a dvd player works correctly.
on the other side, the camcorder direct to the tv return a perfect image with no flicker. i tried on crt tv and also on a digital flatscreen tv.

here's a second attachment where i'm filming a toy. as you can see, when the toy is still, the image don't flick.
as before, recorded straight to capture card, without vhs.
