I'm new to all this so trying to find out why i am experiencing very poor or no sound at all when capturing from my Panasonic NV-GS11 using Ulead Video Studio.
I've looked at some posts and can't make head nor tail of what has been explained.
The sound is perfect when playing back on the camcorder and on the TV but not when i replay what i have captured.

    Thanks

well obviously you don't have a clue. it's a miniDV cam and needs firewire to capture the tape to computer. usb is for low quality web type video.

firewire is the small 4 pin port on the camera, maybe marked DV? the computer also has to have a firewire(sometimes called i-link, or ieee1394) port, it usually a 6 pin, and you use a 4-6 pin cable. there is no other way to get DVavi tapes to the computer in full quality. if the comp doesn't have firewire it can sometime be added as an accessory card.
