The remote has no numbers so do not know where the grid referred to in previous posts is (not on screen either). The post from Dobbo Down under produces no difference and the 0 never appears on screen. Has anybody tried to make this model region free recently? I am Region 4.

just bought the samsung d530 in israel and found out too late that it's not multizone. we tried to make it zone free using the hack codes and directions everyone has posted and ended up with a tray locked notice that we couldn't get out of. We brought it to the the techs that fix samsungs here, under warranty, but were told that by trying to make the hack we burnt some chip and it can't be fixed without replacing the part, which is more expensive than a new one. I can't believe trying to free the zone limitation can do that! any ideas?

They lied to you about the burned chip.
That still doesn't change the fact that your player obviously cannot be hacked.

arnoamya - Samsung and Sony DVD and BluRay players around the world are THE MOST DIFFICULT to unlock of all players. Most CANNOT be unlocked - ever. A very small number of models sold in Australia and New Zealand may be able to be unlocked, but you can't count on it. In the future if you need region free, do not buy Sony or Samsung.
