    Hey,

Is there a way - to in the same clip keep one type of FX in the masked area - while applying other FXs to other areas? Or do I have to make a 2nd clip on top of the original?

    Example:
I wish to blur out an area (not all, just some chat log) - but I wish to have colour correction applied to the entire clip.

I've tried a few things but it seems no matter what I do it's either all FX in the mask area and non around - or only having the masked area visible. There seem to be a "apply specific FXs to "Apply to FX"" feature missing... or is it just me?

    Best regards,
    lindenkron

Yes, you need to composite that.

On the Parent, create a "Cookie Cutter FX" and "Blur FX" (in that order).

On the Child, activate the "Up Arrow".

Now the two tracks behave as one, and you can apply your color work wherever you like. (On the Parent probably)

You will see a new set of tools on the parent.

Can anyone find me a guide to this? I just tried it and I'm slightly confused.

    Thanks, sorry for the hassle!

  5. Easiest way is to use 2 tracks with the same clip

Bottom track - clip with effects (color correction, etc...)

Copy onto top track, draw mask, add blur

    Done!

That's what I ended up doing, but I'd love to learn a way where if you start crop/panning around on one clip - it doesn't screw up the blur area on the total video because the other clip don't move in sync !

    Thanks!

Yes, unless you use the wrong TrackMotion. The one on the left is the correct one.

There is a separate button for the parent called "parent track motion"

When you have tracks parented , look under the track number and to the left, there will be new sets of buttons
