hi everyone, this is a simple question i hope.
i was given a DVD today that has video footage filmed from the 1940's to the 1960's, so it is pretty old stuff.
i opened handbrake to import the dvd and output it to MP4, but i am not sure which of the following 3 settings i should use, Strict, None or Loose.
i saw a video on youtube about converting dvd to MP4 and the guy said to use the Loose setting.
any help appreciated.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

It is explained here:
https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/AnamorphicGuide#strict -
hi m8, i have that link in my editing bookmarks folder from ages ago, but the guy i saw in his video said to select the "Loose" option because it keeps a modulus of 16, but in my case here
Loose has a 16 modulus height of 752
Strict has a 16 modulus height of 576
None is the only one that keeps the 16 modulus for both sides, but it also keeps the video width at 720 so its display size is 720x528
if i use Loose, should i down scale the video to say 640 in width from 720 ?Last edited by glenpinn; 4th Jan 2013 at 21:06.
