The comments were intended more for the people who have the clip loaded successfully. If they check their dll versions (ie verify what pathway vegas is use) then you can match against yours

Yes, that file is there. It's the standard file Sony Vegas uses for rendering. I tried replacing it with another file that some guy suggested in a youtube video before I got here - but it didn't work and swapped it back.
The file is called:
Sony\Vegas Pro 10.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\compoundplug\compoundplug.dll
Correct?

If you go to the folder, right click the .dll -> properties - it will tell you the version number in the version tab (you don't need vegas open, you can do it in windows explorer)
What aedipuss said earlier about VFR is important. If audio sync is important , you won't be able to edit it in vegas very easily (and keep sync), unless you convert to CFR first - if this is the case, importing the files directly is a moot point anyway -

The DLL file:
File version 1.0.0.12.15
Productversion 1.0 (Build 1215) 64-bit.
Latest version ye? -

To anyone that might be reading this thread in the future.
I gave up on finding the issue. I tried moving one of the clips to my friends PC, who has the latest Sony Vegas Pro 12, and it gave the exact same error. My conclusion is you guys must be using some sort of hacking Sony Vegas!
Any who, I've also come to the conclusion that the time I spend doing this - I could've been re-rendering the entire 5½ hours (regardless of how retarded and unnecessary that should be). I used the MediaCoder provided by someone previously in the thread (Thank you!) and h.264'd it all with the same bitrate as the original clip (to avoid size increase). Unfortunately, this results in about 10-15% quality decrease which I'll have to live with.
Thanks for the time spent by everyone here and happy new year 2013!,
