I wondered if you guys could help me. I have various HD video clips that I want to capture still images from.

I've tried Videolan and although the still imaging capturing is quick and easy the final result I find to be a little blurry or interlaced looking.

Is there any software that will capture a still from a video in the same full quality that the video is in, and ideally one that supports flv playback also?

    Thank you.

hd video is not usually interlaced so any artifacts are left over from encoding. vlc is about as good as it gets.

    Oh right I see.

after reading what you wrote I had a mess around with the settings and I found switching to PNG snapshot instead of JPG cleared all my images right up and gave me a real good almost 1-1 version from my video, so I'm not pretty pleased with VLC.

    Thanks for your reply aedipuss
