Hi there,
I've been lurking around the web for a few days now in search of a clear answer to my question. My dilemma is that I recently bought a 250GB Xbox 360 S and I just found out how to stream video files from my computer to the XBOX via the Tversity Media Server as I had previously been doing with my PS3. Now, my problem was that I was trying to watch a movie (in this case it was Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones - an MKV file) and the subtitles weren't showing up. I expected this would be the case and began my crusade to find out how to effectively pair (hardcode) both the movie and the forced subs I found on the internet so I could then stream it to my Xbox and watch it.
I've visited a number of different sites (including this one) and found a number of 'solutions', none of which worked for me. I tried using mkvmerge GUI to 'remux' the subtitle track and movie to no avail. I tried putting them in the same folder and playing the file on my XBOX to no avail. I even tried renaming the subtitle file to the same as the name of the MKV file as I read might work however it later dawned on me how silly that sounded. I know the forced subs work as I had successfully tested it on VLC Media Player prior to playing it on the XBOX.
My question to the VideoHelp.com Community is: Is it possible to hardcode forced subs to an MKV file (ideally without a loss in quality) and then stream it to my XBOX 360 via the Tversity Media Server so I can watch it on my Samsung 32" TV. If so, how would I go about doing this.
Thanks in advance,
RedFoxZERO
PS - Sorry about the length, I tend to draw out things a bit.

Hardcoding requires reconversion which takes time and you will lose quality.
I would try find another streaming application like ps3 media streamer and see if it supports subs.
Or get a better media player...or connect your computer directly to the tv.
