  1. I have this DVD on my hard drive which I would like to burn to DVD so I can view it on DVD player, it's just a VIDEO_TS folder.
However when I started the movie(just right click on the folder and started VLC player) I noticed the only subtitle is German, as I don't know German I googled the movie and found the srt English subtitle which was easy to switch to with VLC media player.

But how do I access this subtitle with DVD player when it is burned to a disc?
(basically replacing German with English one)

I don't know anything about most things you discuss here, I just registered.

Any help would be appreciated within a week or so..

Or if your dvd player supports avi divx/xvid you could convert your video_ts to avi with for example autogk. Then name the video and subtitle same like video.avi and video.srt and put on a cdr/dvdr or usb media and try play on your dvd player.

Because he is the owner of this website(Videohelp.com) and he can do whatever he wants and is very knowledgeable?

DVD technology hasn't moved in ... what ... over ten years? The Method 2 as described in the guide is still the preferred method of adding a subtitle to a DVD. Do you have a better way? Oh, that's right, you're the one asking how to do it and then rejected the good advice for some idiotic reason.

Did you join just to write nonsense?

For me......there is nothing easy when it comes to subtitles. I've been playing with video since 2001.....and I don't mess with subtitles. They are a pain in the @§§.

  8. The first method did absolutely nothing, despite not reporting any errors and reporting success.

    That was time well wasted..

And there is no reason why second method would work since it's just the first method but done manually.

  9. Wow, in method 2 it says:

Author to a new DVD with Muxman
    1. Select the m2v that you got from the Pgcdemux
    2. Select the ac3 that you got from the Pgcdemux
but Pgcdemux never produced any ac3, what an abysmal guide.

If I've used PGCDemux once, I've used it 2000 times. When I want it to demux the audio, it has always done so. If there's any blame to be handed out, it's not to PGCDemux or the guide. Since you're in PAL land (right?), the audio doesn't have to be AC3. Maybe it's MP2, or even WAV? And I'll assume you had the audio box checked. You got the M2V for the video OK? You opened the right IFO?

  11. The only file ever produced was for the video, a single file. And all the boxes were checked exactly as shown.
    I'm not an idiot.

Actually VTS_01_01.IFO doesn't exist, only VTS_01_0.IFO to 9 so I selected the first one.

OK, we'll give you the benefit of the doubt here.

I'm a little unclear. Did you select the VTS_01_0.IFO? And did your screen look like this one? Note 'Titles' ticked, and not 'Menus'. And what happens when you hit the drop-down arrow beside the video length? Do you see more titles, perhaps the one you really want? And you're sure the video you want is in the VTS_01_0.IFO (it shows the correct length) and not in a different VTS (a different IFO)?

  14. Everything was done exactly as in the guide screenshot except the file was VTS_01_0.IFO instead of VTS_01_01.IFO.
    Just like I said.

  15. Now try doing it as in my screenshot. Make sure 'by PGC' is ticked. In that little white window that names the PGC, do you see the correct length of the video you want?

I'm assuming you already decrypted the DVD to your hard drive and aren't doing something foolish like trying to do this from the DVD in the DVD-RW.
