1st analyse your created mkv with MediaInfo to check if the mkv contains the subtitle stream, if it does you player probably doesn't support srt subtitles inside mkv files.
If the mkv doesn't contain the subtitles you did make a mistake when using mkvmerge.
2nd you could also reencode the video and hardcode the subtitles into the video stream,... -
No. i dont think there were any problems occured. Eveything went smoothly...and im using VLC Player. Either way, can u explain how to reencode the video and hardcore the subtitles. I'm not used to it and dont really know what is that for I really appreciate your help. Thanks :>

And did you enable the subtitle in vlc? It's not on by default.

If you explored or played with the menu's to find out what's available you would have found "subtitles track" under video.
SONY 75" Full array 200Hz LED TV, Yamaha A1070 amp, Zidoo UHD3000, BeyonWiz PVR V2 (Enigma2 clone), Chromecast, Windows 11 Professional, QNAP NAS TS851 -
And it can be on by default if you set "Yes" for Default track flag and Forced track flag in General track options for the "highlighted" .srt file
