Hi,
I'm just getting started with Blu Ray authoring and burning and have a problem I can't fix. I'm taking HD video sent from my TIVO (using kmttg to stream to pc) and then using Video ReDo to cut commercials. A MPEG2 file is created that I want to author and simply burn to a Blu Ray disc without encoding again and losing picture quality. My problem is that some of the discs I've created will have very choppy video when played back on my Samsung player. I notice it in particular during fast moving scenes. I've tried Cyberlink Power Director 10, MulitAVCHD 4.1, and tsMuxer to author the discs from the same MPEG2 file and get the choppy video from each one. The strange thing is that the MPEG2 source file will play back without any choppiness using VLC player.
I believe that the issue is related to the bitrate, but don't know how to determine it for sure. About half of my TIVO to Blu Ray conversions have gone very smoothly without any reencoding and there is no choppy picture problem. It's a sporadic problem and that makes it more frustrating to try to determine the root cause. I use ImgBurn to burn discs at 4x and Optical Quantum 25GB discs. I have not had a problem with any burned disc not playing in my player.
My questions are:
1. What can I do to determine if there is a problem with the video before I start the authoring or burning process?
2. What is the best way to fix the video problem and maintain the best possible picture quality for the Blu Ray?
3. If it's a burning issue, what needs to be done to solve the problem?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
