    Hello

There's an MP4 video that I can edit in AviDemux just fine, but I'd like to add some text screens (not sure of the term) between video sequences to present them, and sometimes, add some subtitle within a sequence.

I browsed through the menus, but it seems like AviDemux can't do this.

VirtualDub needs an add-on to decode AAC, which failed installing (XP).

Is there a good, free Windows application that can edit MP4/AAC files, or should I look at the commercial alternatives?

    Thank you.

You could probably make some avisynth script with a subtitle filter. But it wont be that simple.

But I would consider getting some commercial editor like videostudio pro or sony vegas moviestudio pro. Free trials available and you can find several video tutorials on youtube.

    Thanks for the info.

Likewise, I need to add some JPGs at some point in the video when the speaker showed some PowerPoint slides while I kept the camcorder on him, ie. I need to replace the video but keep the audio untouched. Again, it looks like neither AviDemux nor VirtualDub can do this.
