  1. Hello all. So I'm a part of this video project that requires footage in 1920x1080 30p. The problem is, when I filmed my footage, I forgot to preset into the correct settings, and now I have video that is 1440x1080 60i. This project will be exported into the web, so a big problem of my footage is that it is interlaced.

So my question is, what is the best method for converting the video resolution into 1920x1080 and deinterlacing it into 20p WITHOUT compressing it and preserving as much quality as possible? The reason I'm looking for a method that won't compress it is because when my footage will be sent, it will be compressed then exported into the web, which will reduce its quality. Basically, I'm trying conserve as much quality as possible when I deinterlace and convert it. Is there a way?

    No.

You see the interlacing, do you? And it has to be both deinterlaced and resized for streaming over the internet? Then you have to reencode the whole thing and deinterlace it. I don't suppose you know anything about AviSynth and the QTGMC deinrterlacer?

  3. No, I don't. Could you kindly direct me how I could reencode this as you say? How do I use these programs?

  4. You didn't mention the final format, did you? Is it to be H264 video with AAC audio? If not, then what? There are probably some all-in-one programs that can do what you want but someone else will have to advise.

  5. When you deinterlace (or use any video filter), it has to be uncompressed first.

This mean filesizes will be typically 10-20x larger after applying the filter . If you leave it uncompressed, there will be no additional compression and your question is answered, but is that what you want ? Are huge filesizes ok ?

Where are you "sending" it ? Is it a video sharing site like youtube? or a 3rd party , some other person ? Even if you zip it up with 7zip, winrar etc... you can gain substantial savings . Another option is a lossless codec (still many times larger than the original)

how about a little more info. since it's 1440x1080i is it HDV or some other anamorphic video? is there a lot of motion in the video, or mostly static shots? if you would use mediainfo in text mode and copy/paste the results it might help some.
