    when i want to open avi file in virtual dub it's crash.It is only with divx5.0 avi file.

    I have this error
    "Couldn't locate decompressor 'DX50' (unknown)
    Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video.DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable"

    I have dIvx5.0 codecs in my system. Play this avi file in media player is ok. But virtualdub crash. Why??

  2. had similar problems, but found a package containing a number of codecs including divx5 that worked (iirc something like base 2091 v3.1 or something similar)

    do a search on the net and look for the codec without the extra stuff, that one does work
    ... this copy of me hasn't been registered for the last 36 years! (no spamming please)
