  1. Hello everybody.

First I must say that even though I am a computer technician for the past 15 years, I know next to nothing when it comes to video encoding or converting video to other file formats.

It happens that my Panasonic Viera does not like MKV format. So everything I have I am converting it to AVI which plays fine "to an extent" on my TV.

I have been using DivX Plus Converter, Freemake Video Converter, Prism Video File Converter and SUPER.

Some work some don't quite work so well. But the thing is that not all AVI files will play "file not supported error".

On some software, the image ratio will not be the same as original. On an MKV with two sound sources, I cannot chose one "Ingles" one I want.

One software only will do just about 31 minutes of a whole 45 minute episode..... I am lost.

I could use any help in the right direction and what is the best most friendly user software out there for the job.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Albert

You could try Xvid4psp. Use the avi hardware format/preset(the hd preset if your tv supports it). It's not the fastest but the avi works on most devices.

But the best solution is to get a pc/laptop/htpc and connect it to your tv or stream to your tv. Or else will you spend more time converting than watching your video.

Maybe not streaming then. If you can't find a streamer that also realtime transcodes like ps3 media server but I don't think it works for anything else than ps3 and xbo360.

I convert of all my files to avi.

I have been using a free version of Any Video Converter.
It has worked quite well for me.

Just make sure you set the frame size to "Original"

I have found a few files that it cannot do, but I suppose that is to be expected.

    I have a Pana Viera model 2011.

    Serviio is
the best dlna service that you will find.

The Viera can play all video formats, including AVI and MKV with subtitles and 2,3,4,5 audios select channels.

The quality of the stream is perfect for routers 300n
    . No need reencode.

    Whats is TV model??
