  1. Hello folks,

    I ripped Kung Fu Panda 2 for my son. The last 10 minutes of that 90 minutes video is not what is required for my son. I would like to delete that part from the ripped file. Any idea how do I do that?

    Before someone asks me, why do I want to do this, here is an explanation. DS has a developmental disability, as result, he gets fixated on stuff sometimes. We have to tailor the material we are throwing at him so that he learns something out of it and doesn't get fixated on something that just gives him unnecessary stimulus (in this case, the music of that piece).

    Many thanks in advance.

    Avidemux, open avi xvid, set start and stop, delete. Under video and audio audio choose copy, under format choose avi. Save as a new .avi.

  3. Or VirtualDub:

    1) File -> Open AVI
    2) Video -> Direct Stream Copy
    3) navigate the start of the section you want to cut, then: Edit -> Set Selection Start
    4) navigate the end of the section you want to cut, then: Edit -> Set Selection End
    5) Edit -> Delete
    repeat 3 - 5 if you want to cut more than one section
    6) File -> Save as AVI.

    This method will not reencode the video but will only allow cuts on key frames. To stop only on key frames hold down Shift while moving the slider or using the arrow keys.

  4. Perfect. This time AvideMux worked. In the past, this program would crash like crazy. Thank you.

  5. I find AviDemux to be very buggy. But for simple cut editing of Xvid AVI it should be ok.
