I wonder if someone can help with a problem I am having. I am trying to burn 50 or so .AVI files (I think there xvid) to a BluRay disk for continuous playback.
I sucessfully burned 50 similar files to a Single Layer BluRay using Nero Vison 10 and it worked fine, however the next 50 files caused Nero to fail halfway through with the rerror message "Nero has experienced a serious problem and must close immediately" I have googled this fault and a number of people have had the same issue. Long story short I have not been able to resolve this so gave up with Nero Vision.
My next idea was to convert the said 50 files to BluRay format and just burn using Nero. Following advice on this site for suitable tools I downloaded and installed the latest stable version of Xvid4PSP. I tried a single file chose BluRay as the output and it encoded no problem sucessfully producing the BluRay file structure with a converted M2Ts file.

Ok I thought now queue all 50 fileas and off we go.
Unfortunately at around 99.8% xvid4psp thows up an error to say "Could not find a part of the path 'I:\Penguins Of Madagascar\BD\The Penguins of Madagascar - 201 - The Red Squirrel.m2ts'. This happens to every AVI file being converted. When it has processed every file in the temp folder I have found two seperate files. An m2v video file and ac3 file for each converted AVI. The video file has no sound and has finished encoding prematurely and incomplete.

I assume the software has not muxed the ac3 and m2v file together due to the error message. I did try right clicking on the program shortcut and selecting run as administrator but had the same results.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a problem with the software or setup. I have windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with 6Gb memeory and loads of hard disk space.
Also am I choosing the right settings for encoding or should I just choose MTS or AVCHD as the output file.
I have attached a log file for further info.
    Many thanks
    Fozzie

What I'm going to tell you isn't a solution, but it's personal observations that are somewhat related to your problem. I like Xvid4PSP and I use it sometimes, but I have found that it is not very good at producing DVD output at all. I tried to use it to encode something to DVD output and I had somewhat similar problems to yours. I was never able to resolve them. I ended up encoding to AVI using Xvid with it and I used HCenc to encode that to DVD compatible MPEG-2 video. So I'm not surprised at all that it fails in your attempts to encode to BluRay. Xvid4PSP encodes to MKV and AVI format fine but everything else is iffy.

Nero is a "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of program. Around here we're not real fond of it. In my opinion the documentation for this program is not all that good, but multiAVCHD is free and can convert your input files to BluRay output. I do not know if you can queue things in it or if you will have to encode one file at a time.

Xvid4psp may not handle folder and files with spaces that well. You could try rename one folder and file without any spaces and just see how it works.

Or try other all-in-one avi to blu-ray converters like https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-blu-ray-converters

Baldrick is definitely correct on the filename issue. I have also had problems with various programs of long names, even though the limit should be like 256 characters, and names that exceed the old DOS format of 8 characters. Also had rejections from files on external drives. Your log states "Could not find a PART of the path" from "I:\Penguins Of Madagascar\The Penguins Of Madagascar Season 2\The Penguins of Madagascar - 201 - The Red Squirrel.avi" so it may indeed be the spaces, length or location.

You might try a test of short AVI on your desktop with like "C:\users\yourname\desktop\penguin.avi" or even "c:\penguin.avi". It can't hurt to try and may be a simple cure.
