  1. I have a 7Gb file in MKV format and need to play it on a PS3. The problem is that my PS3 would not recognize a USB drive formatted in NTFS. Furthermore, a FAT32 drive can only store files upto the 3.99Gb mark.

Here are the file details via MediaInfo:
    Format : Matroska
    Format version : Version 2
    File size : 7.17 GiB
    Duration : 2h 14mn
    Overall bit rate : 7 623 Kbps

    Video
    Format : AVC
    Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
    Format profile : High@L5.0
    Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC

    Audio
    Format : AC-3
    Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
Mode extension : CM (complete main)
    Codec ID : A_AC3

I've attempted to convert using a software called PS3Muxer (LINK), however the end result is a bunch of mt2s files. I selected the FAT32 option under the "Splitting" menu.

The PS3 has LONG been surpassed as a media player for reasons like this. You could just buy a real media player like one of the Western Digital models and have something that understands NTFS format drives or you can continue to paint yourself into a corner with the PS3 and its many restrictions.

Load the mkv into tsmuxer and change level to 4.1 and save as a m2ts and load that into multiAVCHD and output as sony playtation 3,right now the file is high profile 5.0 and needs to be 4.1 to be able to play.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  4. I loaded the file with TSMuxer and an error window popped up saying invalid H264 NAL unit size. NAL unit truncated.

I carried out a search for this on Google i came across the following solution:

"Hi, I too am having this problem. You can fix this without knowing about NAL, if the cause of your problem is in fact the version of MKVtoolnix, because it was for me. I muxed all sorts of movies in mkvtoolnix version 3.0, and then sent these through mkv2vob to view on playstation. I was stupid enough to think that an upgrade might actually be a good thing, so I upped to 4.3 of mkvtoolnix and now I can't do anything. to check what version your mkvs are, download mkvinfo. If they are in fact 4.2 (or later for sure, but not sure how far past 3.0), then use an older version of mkvmerge to create a new mkv. you should be able to drag your problematic mkv into the mkvmerge gui, remux it into a practically identical mkv, and then continue as planned in tsMuxer or mkv2vob or whatever your choice may be. I hope this helps. "

After using version 4.0.0 to create a new mkv file, it then loaded correctly. I changed the level to 4.1 and selected the M2TS Muxing option, and started muxing. The following error came up:

    SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.10.6 http://www.smlabs.net
    Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@5.0 Resolution: 1920:800p Frame rate: 90000
    Change H264 level from 5 to 4.1
H.264 stream does not contain fps field. Muxing fps=90000
H264 bitstream changed: insert nal unit delimiters
H264 bitstream changed: insert pict timing and buffering period SEI units
    Decoding AC3 stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6
