wd tv hd streaming jpeg help

i have a wdtv hd streaming player . i have a bunch of old .avi .mpeg video files that the media player cannot find the content for .
i would like to know if a program exist that can take each file and and take a jpeg snapshot so that i can connect a pic to each video file

Can you upload some video samples or post what mediainfo printout?
Or exact model of WDTV would be handy too. Is it some new model?
Second question, there are programs for it, google for "wdtv thumbnail generator" , but WDTV , older models had a bug where WDTV shows that thumbnail picture together with video , so you might see on your screen two same thumbnails one picture and the other for that particular video

Install MediaInfo instead of giving us samples and post back what it tells you about the problem files. MPEG should be fine, depending on what exactly you mean by the term. With regards to AVI files, some Divx/Xvid encoding options will not be supported. For example. GMC with 3 warp points almost certainly won't work. We need to see the MediaInfo data to figure out what you've got and why you have problems.
