I am doing a 5 min video and intend to put it on my website as flash.

I also want smartphone users to have this locally on their smartphones or mobile phones (when they may not have internet access to my site).
I intend on making a MP4 or 3GP version, which they can share with other people we know.

    My questions are:
    1) Can I have a link on my website that says,"download a version of this video for your phone here" and have it sucessfully download onto their phone so they have it locally
    2) What frame size and video settings give the best bang for the buck

Check the iphone and android mobile presets in handbrake and xmedia recode to get the most common settings.

I would probably try make a mp4 with h264 video and aac audio with not too high frame size. Maybe also a 3gp for older phones.

    Thanks Baldrick,
Whats the best way of getting the 3gp or mp4 file to store on their phone locally?
Send it as an email attachment? Offer it as a download link?
