  1. Good morning you all
I have been converting videos for quite some time, mainly from MKV to AVi and from MP4 to AVI.
In most cases to my full satisfaction.
Always keeping the frame size(width and height) the same.
The problem is that, sometime, the input video opens up the full screen, the maximum,
but the output video opens up to a smaller screen, less then the full screen.
Somebody can tell me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance

    D

No, because you haven't provided any helpful information to enable us to help you. For example, letting us know what program you used and what your source video is and what you want to get as output would be nice.

Also, you have violated our rules by using a non-descriptive subject in your post, so you're going to need a LOT of luck to get anyone interested in helping you when they see that.

  4. First, thanks for giving me some of your time.

They are all Documentaries, mainly from the BBC.
    All good quality.
One of the converters I use is "Any Video Converter Professional" Ver 3.5.5
    Which works very well.
Sometimes I use the "Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum Ver 6.3.8"
    which works very well too.
Most of the input videos are 1280 by 720 pixles, with a bit rate of 3000 and up.
In most cases the output video opens up to the full size of my screan.
Sometimes, not too often, it opens up to less then the full size of my screan.
The media players I use are the VLC and the Daum potplayer.
Both of them are doing a very good job, playing all my videos.

Install MediaInfo and use it to get information about one of your problem converted files. Post back here in this thread what it tells you about the file. Use MediaInfo to also get the information from the source file so we can see what it looked like to start with and post that here too.

Why do you need to convert if you are playing it on your computer? Too slow computer?
Do you mean that it has black borders around it?

And try other converters like freemake video converter, video to video converter.

  8. I think I got an answer to the problem. Asolution is more accurate.

I borrowed a DVD from a friend of mine.

I ripped it using my "Aiseesoft"converter.

The frame size of the DVD is 720 by 576 pixles.

When setting the ripped output to thesame frame size, the output video opens up to about 2/3 of my screen. Why? I don’tknow.

When setting the ripped output to 1280 by720 pixles, the output video opens up to full screen.

So, now I know how to overcome theproblem.

So, thank you all for your good will.
