My first question is if this is even possible. If so, can I do it through VLC? and can I do this over hamachi?

Oh, that's good. Can you tell me the steps on how to do it or link me to something that will help. I didn't have any luck with my google searches.

I no longer user hamachi so I don't remember.

I posted a question on the Hamachi forums. Do you know if there's any other way to do this?

What do you mean by not "connected to your network"? Net even a wireless connection? Or do you mean no wired connection but with a wireless connection? Or not connected to your LAN but connected to the internet (wired or wireless)?
