  1. My first question is if this is even possible. If so, can I do it through VLC? and can I do this over hamachi?

Yes, it's possible with hamachi. It will mount a network drive for you and you can play the files with VLC.

  3. Oh, that's good. Can you tell me the steps on how to do it or link me to something that will help. I didn't have any luck with my google searches.

  6. I posted a question on the Hamachi forums. Do you know if there's any other way to do this?

  7. What do you mean by not "connected to your network"? Net even a wireless connection? Or do you mean no wired connection but with a wireless connection? Or not connected to your LAN but connected to the internet (wired or wireless)?
