I don't why this suddenly happened, it was okay before. I parted my hardisk into 2 sections and now there is an unallocated space of about 200GB and I want to extend one of my parted volume into the unallocated space but an error occured. Here is the screenshot:
And when I click yes, it says it couldn't perform the action![]()

read what it says and try to understand it. You are trying to convert your boot disk into a non boot disk, This means that you will not be able to boot from it .. is that what you want?? No? I thought not.
Go back, backup your whole disk aand then re-partition into one large volume, do not try to be too clever with many small volumes it just wont workCorned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -
Look, you don't get what I am trying to do. I am trying to extend my volume so that it can only have 2 parts in the disk. Now I have one extra free unallocated space so I want to extend one of the parts that I am having now but it seems like the unallocated space won't allow the other part to be extended.

Rule #2 about multiple partitions on a single drive is "Don't Do It !"
Rule #1 is "If you already have multiple partitions on a single disk, DON'T MESS WITH IT !"
You want a bigger partition? Back up, re-format and partition (ONE), and re-install.
It is possible do do what you want in some conditions, looks like this particular instance will not work, regardless it creates a drive that is MORE LIKELY to suffer a catastrophic, unrecoverable failure. -
Ok, I'll leave it as it is. Ok, continuing on with the backup and restore matter. I have successfully backed up my laptop. Now, the problem is with restoring it into my new SSD drive. The drive detects my backup file but I keep getting this error:
"no disk that can be used for recovering the system disk can be found".
How can I solve this?I can't live without my computer.
